My fiancée and I had just spent a few days in North Wales scrambling up Snowdon and decided that on our journey back down to Kent, we would stop here on route to spend the night. The staff were absolutely lovely and really accommodating. There was a big party going on but they still made room for us to eat and we are SO glad that they did. The food here is DIVINE. We both said it was probably some of the best food we have ever eaten and we'll be dreaming of those short ribs for a while. We'll definitely be making the 5 hour journey back just to try the curry goat. The room has pastries, fruit, and yoghurt for breakfast. It also has a coffee machine in the corner of the restaurant, as well as a tea / coffee station in the room. Really lovely - would recommend!

Lovely freshly made up room with a new feel. Staff were friendly food was delicious only a 4star for food due to no cooked breakfast being available, they supply pre packed bags of pastries which went down well with the unlimited use of the coffee machine in the restaurant help yourself it was a very trusted environment. Staff went and got a spare fan from the house which was very kind as it was 36c 🥵
Would stay again and it is highly recommend. The young lad who was serving the food was very well mannered and the waitress was very friendly. Whole experience was excellent. They have a Jamaican theme to some of their dishes the Lamb shank was stunning.

Called in this lovely little quirky pub for a drink and some snacks whilst on a walk today. We were staying in the area overnight. The last time we were in the area about 9 years ago this pub wasn't open. What a lovely woman who runs the pub. Food that was coming out looked great. Dog friendly which was good because we had our little black and tan with us. Really felt welcomed. Thank you! We hope to return one day.

Loved our visit when we went in the Narrowboat on the canal. A 30 minute walk for us from where we were moored. Great food and a lovely pub.

Really nice friendly var lady ... pub is really quirky and old fashioned which was kinda lovely. Food came out hot and pretty quick good size too. More veg would be nice but no complaints from me. Would definitely go back to try the Jamaican menu

Went for Christmas meal. Main course was gorgeous (oxtail), dessert not so. Supposed to be bread and butter pudding but I think someone might have confused it with bread pudding, as the texture was too dense and not sweet like b and b pudding is supposed to be. But the pub is beautiful, rustically furnished with live music on the night I was there and the staff were lovely.

Absolutely amazing find. If you are staying in Crickhowell & want a wonderful different meal, please try this Jamaican/Welsh combination. We loved. Plus for my doggy friends, they are most welcome. We will definitely be back when we are in the area. We highly recommend 🌟🌟

Really lovely country pub. Very welcoming with a decent selection of beers.
The food is very good, with an unusual Jamaican twist to the menu. Definitely worth a visit.

Really good food, very nice local pub. Love the jamwelsh menu, service is excellent. Good choice of ales. We try and go every time we are in the area. Live music in the evening every now and then too!

Turned up late for Sunday service with 1 coeliac in tow .. they accommodated us admirably. The chef came out to discuss options and the food was delicious.
The service was great. The atmosphere was lovely and the pub was full of all ages.. and dogs! There was a live band playing (not loud enough to stop conversation) and we’d go back in a heartbeat.
